Residents of Katulani and Miambani markets are set to enjoy easier access to government services after State House Director of Coordination, Boniface Mutisya Musambi, successfully pushed for the establishment of Huduma Centres in the two bustling markets.
The proposal was tabled during a high-level meeting with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, where Musambi joined Ukambani leaders in discussing key regional development and security issues. The centres will bring services such as national registration, business permits, and social support closer to the people of Kitui Central and surrounding areas.
The Interior Ministry has endorsed the plan, with a technical team expected next week to scout for suitable construction sites. Officials say the move will significantly reduce travel and waiting times for essential government services.
Other leaders who attended the meeting included Hon. Kawaya (Mwala), Hon. Mwalyo (Masinga), Hon. Kaki (Kitui South), Hon. CNN (Mwingi West), Senator Beth Syengo (Mwingi North), and Commissioner Muasya (Kitui West).
