Kitui Governor Julius Malombe on Friday led a high-impact development tour of Endau/Malalani Ward in Kitui East, unveiling a series of transformative projects set to redefine livelihoods and service delivery in the area.

In a major boost to healthcare, the Governor commissioned the renovated maternity block and outpatient department at Endau Dispensary, a move expected to greatly improve access to quality maternal and general healthcare services for residents. He also inspected a newly constructed mortuary at the facility, providing a long-awaited solution for dignified preservation of bodies and easing the burden on local families.

The tour further underscored the county’s commitment to youth empowerment and skills development, with Governor Malombe commissioning a modern workshop at Syou Vocational Training Centre in Ikisayani. The facility is set to equip young people with practical, hands-on skills critical for self-reliance and job creation.

In addition, the Governor inspected 40 sewing machines donated by the County Government to the institution, a strategic investment aimed at strengthening technical training, particularly in tailoring and garment-making, and opening up income-generating opportunities for trainees.

Speaking during the tour, Governor Malombe emphasized that his administration is focused on delivering tangible, people-centered development across all wards. He noted that investing in healthcare and vocational training is key to building a productive, healthy, and economically empowered population.

Area MCA Erastus Mbuno, alongside members of the county cabinet and other officials, accompanied the Governor, lauding the initiatives as timely and impactful interventions that will uplift the lives of Endau residents.

The tour marks a significant milestone in accelerating development in Endau/Malalani Ward, signaling a new chapter of improved healthcare, expanded opportunities for youth, and enhanced dignity for the community.
