Journalists drawn from various media houses in Kitui County convened for the fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Kitui Media Unity on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The well-attended meeting focused largely on the welfare of journalists, with members engaging in discussions aimed at improving working conditions, professional growth, and unity within the media fraternity in the county.
During the AGM, members also conducted elections to usher in new leadership that will steer the association for the next term. Brain Mwangangi of County FM was elected as the new Chairman, taking over from Peter Kasuva, who has led the unity for the past four years.
Peter Mwembe of Wikwatyo FM was elected Treasurer, while outgoing Chairman Peter Kasuva secured a new role as Secretary General, where he will serve for the next two years.
Members expressed optimism that the newly elected officials will build on the existing foundation to strengthen cohesion among journalists and advocate for their welfare across Kitui County.
