The Charity Musyoka Foundation has stepped up its support for vulnerable persons in Kitui County through donations to learners with disabilities and a resident who recently underwent a leg amputation.

Led by Kitui County Assembly Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Representative and NARC nominated MCA Hon. Charity Musyoka, the foundation visited Kitui Comprehensive School for the Visually Impaired, where she interacted with teachers and learners and commended the institution for its outstanding performance.

The school’s principal, Caroline Njagi, said the institution won 14 items during this year’s Kenya Music Festival and has qualified to represent both the school and Kitui County at the national competitions to be held at Kibabii University in Bungoma County as from 1 st to 6th August 2026.

However, she appealed to well-wishers to help raise KSh 300,000 to facilitate transport and meals for the 65 learners expected to participate in the national event.

In response, the Charity Musyoka Foundation donated exercise books, pens, sanitary towels, hats, T-shirts and KSh 5,000 to support the learners as they prepare for the competition.

Musyoka congratulated the learners and teachers for their achievement and urged individuals, corporate organisations and development partners to support the school’s appeal, saying the learners deserve an opportunity to showcase their talents on the national stage.

In a separate visit, the foundation assisted Kaindi Mutua of Kaumba Village in Mulango Ward, who recently lost a leg through amputation. The foundation donated a pair of auxiliary crutches to improve her mobility and ease her daily activities.

Musyoka also advised the beneficiary to register with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) in order to obtain a disability certificate and access government support programmes, assistive devices and other services available to persons with disabilities.

Speaking after the visits, Musyoka reaffirmed her commitment to championing the welfare of vulnerable members of society through both advocacy and practical interventions.

She said the Charity Musyoka Foundation will continue partnering with communities and stakeholders to improve access to education, mobility support and other essential services for persons with disabilities across Kitui County.
