262

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Friday, October 16, 2026, commissioned the newly constructed and equipped Mwembe Tayari Dispensary in Nzambani Ward, Kitui East Sub-County, in a move aimed at bringing essential healthcare services closer to local residents.

The facility is expected to improve access to basic medical services for residents of Mwembe Tayari and neighbouring villages, reducing the distance patients must travel in search of treatment.

The newly commissioned dispensary is equipped to support the delivery of primary healthcare services, while its supporting infrastructure includes a two-door pit latrine to enhance sanitation at the facility.

The project aligns with Governor Malombe’s broader healthcare agenda under the Kitui Promise Manifesto, which seeks to expand health infrastructure and ensure communities across the county can access quality healthcare closer to home.

The commissioning adds to the county government’s efforts to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery, particularly in rural communities where access to nearby medical facilities remains essential to improving community wellbeing.

Through continued investment in health facilities and medical infrastructure, Governor Malombe’s administration is pursuing its commitment to making healthcare more accessible to the people of Kitui.
