Kitui Governor Julius Malombe on Friday, 17th April 2026 conducted a development tour in Endau/Malalani Ward, where he commissioned a newly established workshop at Syou Vocational Training Centre in Ikisayani.

The commissioning marks a significant step in strengthening technical and vocational education in the area, aimed at equipping youth with practical and marketable skills.

During the visit, the Governor also inspected 40 sewing machines donated by the County Government to the institution. The equipment is expected to enhance hands-on training, particularly in tailoring and garment-making, boosting opportunities for self-employment among learners.

Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Malombe emphasized the critical role of vocational training institutions in driving socio-economic transformation. He noted that empowering young people with skills is key to reducing unemployment and fostering sustainable local development.

The County Chief reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in vocational training centres across Kitui, terming them as vital hubs for innovation, job creation, and community empowerment.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the county leadership to accelerate development and improve livelihoods across all wards.
