The government of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe remains committed to ensuring that the people of Kitui have access to quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare services across the county through sustained investment in health infrastructure and service delivery.
In line with this commitment, residents of Kyandui in Mulango Ward are set to benefit from improved healthcare services following the successful acquisition of land for the expansion of Kyandui Dispensary.
The initiative, undertaken by the County Government of Kitui through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in collaboration with the Ministries of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, and Roads, Public Works and Transport, will facilitate the construction of a modern maternity wing at the facility.
The expansion is expected to improve access to maternal and newborn healthcare services, reducing the distance expectant mothers travel to seek skilled medical care while enhancing healthcare outcomes for families in the area.
Residents welcomed the development, noting that it addresses a long-standing need for improved healthcare infrastructure and services within the community.
The project is part of Governor Malombe’s broader agenda of strengthening healthcare systems across Kitui County through the construction and upgrading of health facilities, equipping medical institutions, and bringing essential services closer to wananchi.
The Kyandui Dispensary expansion is yet another demonstration of the Malombe administration’s commitment to delivering the Kitui Promise through transformative projects that improve lives and strengthen essential public services.
