Incoming Mwingi Central MP hopeful CPA John Makau Kimwele is giving the area MP, Gideon Mutemi Mulyungi, a run for his money after declaring his bid for the parliamentary seat ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Kimwele, who currently serves as the Chief Officer for Finance, Revenue Management and Accounting in Kitui County, has recently intensified his grassroots engagements across the constituency, meeting residents, youth groups and local leaders to discuss development priorities and the future of Mwingi Central.
His declaration has stirred political excitement in the constituency, with many residents from wards such as Nguni, Nuu, Waita, Kivou and Mwingi Town expressing support for his leadership. Supporters argue that his experience in public finance and administration gives him a strong foundation to champion development and accountability in the constituency.
