Ikanga Kyatune Ward MCA, Hon. Cyrus Musyoka popularly known as the Sonko has urged young people to seize the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and secure their place in the democratic process.
Speaking exclusively to Hopkin Digital, Musyoka stressed that registering as a voter is not just a right but a duty that empowers Gen Z to determine the future of leadership in Kitui and the country.
“The change we want starts with you acquiring your voter’s card. Without it, your voice will not be heard when it matters most,” the youthful MCA said.
He urged local administrators, churches, and community leaders to mobilize eligible youth who have attained the age of 18 to visit registration centers, warning against last-minute rushes that could lock many out.
Musyoka further revealed that his office will continue to support civic education and awareness drives to boost turnout, noting that young people have the numbers to influence governance if they choose to participate.
His remarks come as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) intensifies efforts countrywide to ensure that all eligible but unregistered citizens are captured in the voter roll.
