Fresh divisions are reportedly emerging within the UDA political brigade in Kitui, with some members said to have opted out of a meeting being planned by Kitui South MP Dr Rachael Kaki Nyamai tomorrow.
Hopkin Digital Media has established that some members who were expected to attend the meeting have indicated that they will not be present, in what could signal growing disagreements within the political grouping.
The reported differences are said to involve several prominent figures associated with the UDA network, including Charles Mwalimu, Esther Ndile, former Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza and Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke.

The developments come at a time when UDA-linked leaders have been intensifying grassroots mobilisation across Kitui ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Kaki has in recent months participated in several UDA-related engagements alongside some of the leaders now reportedly at odds with her.
However, the specific reasons behind the alleged decision by some members to skip tomorrow’s meeting remain unclear, and the leaders mentioned have not publicly confirmed a political fallout with the MP.
The reported developments nevertheless raise questions about the cohesion of the UDA brigade in Kitui as competing political interests continue to take shape ahead of the 2027 elections.
Our ever watchful Hawk-eyed will continue to follow the developments and seek responses from the leaders involved.
