Ikanga Kyatune Ward MCA Hon. Cyrus Musyoka Sonko on Monday, March 9, 2026, accompanied Kitui County Woman Representative Irene Kasalu to the AIC Mulango Children’s Home in Kitui County to celebrate her birthday with children living at the facility.
The leaders shared a birthday cake with the children, bringing smiles and excitement to the residents of the home, which is among the largest children’s care institutions in the county. The visit was aimed at marking the special occasion in a meaningful way by sharing the day with vulnerable members of the community.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Sonko urged leaders and well-wishers to embrace a culture of giving and regularly support institutions that care for disadvantaged children. He noted that acts of kindness and compassion can greatly uplift the lives of vulnerable members of society.
Dr. Kasalu said celebrating her birthday with the children was both humbling and fulfilling, adding that leaders have a responsibility to stand with the less fortunate and ensure that children under institutional care feel valued and supported.
