The Wiper nominated MCA Hon Mary Mbithe Musili Famously known as Inyaa Kanyangi assisted Kivou Ward MCA Hon Sammy Munyithya In procuring the signatures in support of the impeachment motion of Kitui assembly speaker Hon Kevin Kinengo.
In a affidavit sworn by Hon Mbithe, on 8th April 2023, stated that With the help of the mover Hon Sammy Munyithya approached all members of the County Assembly of Kitui and the list of the members attached to the motion out the volition, willingly and without any form of Coercion from her and any member purporting the signatures presented is not theirs are lying.
“I, MARY MBITHE of Postal Address Number, P.o. Box 694-90200 Kitui do hereby solemnly make oath and state as follows:-
1. THAT I am an adult female of sound mind and a member of the County Assembly of Kitui and therefore competent to swear this Affidavit.
2. THAT I am the holder of National Identity Card Number 32062957.
3. THAT I and the mover of the motion one Hon. Sammy Munyithya collected signatures in support of the motion for the removal of the Speaker, County Assembly of Kitui.
4. THAT I personally and with the help of the mover Hon. Sammy Munyithya approached all members of the County Assembly of Kitui to support the said motion and the list of the members attached to the motion out of their volition, wilingly and without any form of coercion from me or any other person to the best of my knowledge signed the motion upon presentation.
5. THAT any member purporting that the signatures presented is not theirs is lying and presenting false information to the County Assembly as all the signatures in support of the motion were only acquired through the members physically signing the said list in support.
6. THAT the County Assembly at this juncture cannot allow any member to say that the signatures presented are not theirs and the only option available is to present the same to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for authentication by qualified experts.
7. THAT on behalf of the team, I confirm that I signed in person as I was actively involved in the collection of the said signatures.
8. THAT Swear this affidavit in support of the fact that all the signatures submitted in support of the motion for the removal of the Speaker, County Assembly of Kitui are authentic and were obtained from the respective members of the County Assembly of Kitui.”
