President William Ruto was warmly received by Kitui South Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Rachel Kaki Nyamai at Ikutha town during the official launch of the Ikutha–Kanziku–Mutha–Mutomo Road Phase I project. The landmark road is expected to open up the southern parts of Kitui County, enhance trade, and improve access to essential services.

In his address, President Ruto reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful projects that transform livelihoods across the country.

“Our focus is on delivering programmes and projects that offer real change for our citizens. I invite all leaders to work together in advancing Kenya’s transformation. Opposition to development projects that are improving the lives of Kenyans is unhelpful politics,” said the Head of State.

The President emphasized that the new road will boost economic activities by linking agricultural zones to markets and easing transport within Kitui South and neighboring sub-counties.

During the event, President Ruto, joined by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe and MP Rachel Kaki, also presided over the issuance of 15,000 title deeds to residents of Ikutha, part of 42,000 documents prepared for distribution across Kitui County.

The issuance of title deeds marks a major milestone in land ownership and security, enabling residents to utilize their parcels for development and access to credit facilities.

Hon. Kaki commended the President for prioritizing Kitui South in national development programmes, saying the road and title deeds will transform lives and spur investment in the area.

The event drew thousands of residents who celebrated the long-awaited infrastructural breakthrough, signaling renewed optimism for the region’s economic growth.
